Company history.
How We Got Here
Track is the flagship product of Management Controls, Inc., a company founded in 1989 by Bob Harrell. Bob's experience in operational auditing and finance at a major oil company led him to recognize the business process implications of contracting -- a trend that was beginning to accelerate in the early 1970s. In response to the shift to outsourced labor, Management Controls conducted contractor audits and provided contract administration consulting to its early clients.
As contracting grew, accounting departments of both owners and contractors strained under a blizzard of paper timesheets and invoices. In 1994, Management Controls addressed this growing problem by creating the first Microsoft Windows version of Track.
Our Goal
From the start, we wanted to do more than just eliminate time-sheet errors. Our goal, then and now, is to automate the entire paper-bound process -- from time capture through invoicing to payment.
We've improved Track over the years to address all contract types, automate contract compliance and generate significant benefits for our company's owner and contractor customers. Today, Track, not only our flagship product but now our company's name, is deployed at dozens of industrial complexes, controlling more than $7 billion in annual spend.
